Developer and vocalist, based in Dhanbad.

I'm Suvojeet Sengupta. I was born in Burnpur, Asansol in 2005 and now live in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. I work in two fields and take both seriously: software, where I build Android apps and backend services, and music, where I sing Hindi and Bengali songs.

I learned Android from the inside, maintaining a custom ROM for the Redmi 12 5G, and went on to build NoteNext and SuvMusic. Today I'm a software developer intern at gOGig, where I work on Android app development, web and backend. Outside work, most of my attention is on backend: API design, authentication, databases and deployment. I use AI tools to write code faster, and I review, test and take responsibility for everything that ships. This site runs on a NestJS API I built and host myself.

Music came first. I grew up with Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar at home, started practising properly around 2015, and today record covers and perform live.

  1. 2005

    Born in Burnpur, Asansol

    Grew up in West Bengal with Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar playing at home.

  2. 2015

    Started singing seriously

    Moved from singing for fun to practising deliberately: breath control, phrasing and learning songs properly.

  3. 2020

    First websites

    Began building for the web with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, then React and Next.js.

  4. 2023

    Custom ROM maintainer

    Took over maintenance of a custom ROM for the Redmi 12 5G / Poco M6 Pro 5G (sky): AOSP builds, device trees and kernel fixes, shipped to a real user community.

  5. 2025

    NoteNext

    Released NoteNext, an offline-first Android notes app with biometric lock.

  6. 2026

    SuvMusic

    Started SuvMusic, a YouTube Music client for Android that has since passed 290 stars on GitHub.

    Working on gOGig's Android app, web and backend, and building my own NestJS API for this site.

What I'm working toward

Engineering

Getting deeper into backend fundamentals: data modelling, caching, background jobs, observability, and running services in production.

Music

Recording original Hindi and Bengali songs alongside covers, and performing live more often.
